Dr. Usman Hameed
Dr. Usman Hameed is working as an Associate Partner at Jurist Panel. He has completed his PhD in Law at University of Glasgow, UK. He also holds an LL.M from University of Sheffield UK. Prior to this, he worked as Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate and Director Punjab Judicial Academy. Before joining judicial service, Dr. Hameed worked as an associate lawyer at Walker, Martinue, Saleem & Mushtaq Masood Law Associates. In all, he has nine years of aggregate experience in judicial service and legal profession. He takes interest in Administrative & Service Laws, Banking & Tax Laws, Constitutional & Criminal Laws, and Civil & Family Laws.
Dr. Hameed has delivered lectures on law at Punjab Judicial Academy Lahore, Federal Judicial Academy Islamabad and KPK Judicial Academy Peshawar. In addition, he conducted workshops/ seminars at fourteen district headquarters of Punjab. He was invited to present conference papers at University of Edinburgh, King’s College London, Holy Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, University of Helsinki, Finland, University of Hull, University of Glasgow, and University of Dundee, UK. He has attended Pre-service Judicial Training course at Federal Judicial Academy Islamabad, and qualified Legal Research & Writing skills course at University of Glasgow, UK.
His work has been published in journals of national and international repute such as Journal of Law & Policy, International Journal of Humanities & Social Science, US-China Law Review & Pakistan Law Review. Topics of publications include, Forfeiture and Asset freezing, Due Process Rights of the Insane Accused, Skype Testimony & E-Court Protocols and Specific Intent Requirement of the crime of Genocide.
